The Royal Library[edit]
Hero wakes in Snorri's cabin and is caught up-to-speed on the situation. Your next stop now is The Royal Library, standing on top of a plateau east of the cabin. You'll have to head south and find a path up to the plateau then enter the library. Once inside, go speak to the Slime NPC far to the north of the area, and it'll tell you about the green switches you must press to turn the walls of the building and open new paths.
Head east from the Slime NPC and open the chest at the end of the path for 4000 gold coins. Press the switch next to the Slime then hit the one to the southeast of the room. The walls will spin around open a passage next to you. Go on through and head upstairs to Level 2.
On this floor, go around the hallway and you'll find the next switch by the north wall. Pressing it lifts the stairs in the middle of the room and connects it to the floor above you.
On Level 3, check the book on the shelf directly ahead to find the recipe book Favorite Fashions of the Masters of Magic. Still on the same floor, go around to the west side of the room and examine the bookshelf to get the recipe book An Anthology of Elemental Earrings.
Go through the southeast passage and climb up to Level 4. Cross the narrow piece of ground to the left and you'll spot a Mimic. Make sure you defeat it to receive a Seed of Skill. Press the switch on the platform in the middle of the room, before taking the northern stairs back down to Level 3.
Here, press the switch by the north wall twice to spin things around and make a path to where you need to go. Head down the stairs in the middle to Level 2. On this floor, circle around south and open the treasure chest for some Saint's Ashes.
Go around to the northeast staircase and climb up to Level 3 where you should now have a clear path to the study in the middle of the room. Go in there to learn a few things about the queen you met back in Sniflheim. Press the switch in this room first then zoom over to Sniflheim.
Sniflheim City[edit]
Be sure to rest and save at the campsite outside the city, or even forge some new gear if you like before going to confront the queen. The witch stops pretending now that you know the truth and a battle ensues.
Boss Battle: Krystalinda[edit]
This witch is weak to fire so use the best fire-based abilities you have on her. Veronica should cast Antimagic while Serena uses the ability Hymn of Ice on the party. Also, if Veronica has learned Oomphle, use it on your best offensive characters. Hit Krystalinda with Decelerate and speed up your party with Acceleratle. Sap also works on her but it takes some work to make it stick.

Once most buffs and debuffs are in place, spam Flame Slash for anyone who has it and use fire-type pep powers if available. The main issue here is Krystalinda turning your characters into snowmen which takes a while to wear off. She can also summon snowstorms which decreases the accuracy of your party.

Krystalinda's chilly breath attack also hits the entire party regardless of where you move them. Counter this with Rab's Multiheal spell to so you don't waste turns healing.
Once the witch is taken care of, all the ice around the city will melt away and you'll finally be able to explore. Save at the church first then go to the inn and check the bookshelf in one of the rooms upstairs. You'll get the recipe book Platinum Power there.
Onward to the tavern where you'll find 24 gold coins in a barrel upstairs. Back outside, there's a cart with a chest on it just to the north of the tavern. Get up there for a Royal Ruby.
Go up into the next house after that and open the closet upstairs for a Garter. Now for the last house on the east side of the city. Smash the barrel next to the shelf for some Lambswool then you can visit the equipment shop. Enter through the back door so you can open the treasure chest behind the counter. It contains 3000 gold coins.
The item shop is selling a Choker of Riddance for 2000 coins. Pick that up. The weapons and armor are really expensive as usual so just get what you can or just forge them when you have the recipe and materials. We can make a stop at the castle now.
Head west into the queen's room and open the closet for a Nobleman's Knife. This is a very good weapon for anyone who can dual-wield knives. I would suggest reworking it to a +3 at the forge later. Next, use the lift to the east to go down to basement.
There, break one of the barrels by the wall for a phial of Lunaria. Enter the storage room to the south. Open the chest for Savvy Sapphire then break the pots nearby to get a Mini Medal and Panacea.
Keep looking around the room for another pair of pots that you can break for a Seed of Sorcery. Go to the throne room next and speak to the queen to proceed. Hero will receive the Blue Orb after all the drama. You are now all set to claim your birthright from the World Tree. But do go back into the city for a couple of favors.
Quest #23: A Cold Crush[edit]
Reward: That's Magic (recipe book)
The client for this quest is found upstairs at the tavern. He asks that you bring him a Snaerose so he can give it to Krystalinda.

The flower in question blooms at the edge of the southern section of The Snarfelt. The path to that area is blocked by a wall of snow.

You'll need to mount a Face Invader to break the wall. Take the flower back to the young man once you have it for your reward.
Quest #24: The Viking Hoard[edit]

Reward: Pirate's Hat

This client is at the second floor of the item shop, and he wants you to visit the Viking Hideout to learn why a shipment has not arrived. Sail to the west of Sniflheim and dock your ship there.

At the hideout, make your way to the treasure heap and look for a red-head who says that his brother has gone missing. Sail to Insula Borealis (the tiny island all the way north of the ocean) and you'll find the missing viking fishing on the beach. He'll give you a Scruffy Urchin to take back to the client.

Where to Find the Six Orbs in Dragon Quest XI
Some of the quest lines in Dragon Quest XI can be quite drawn out, seeing you explore many different regions in search of items and specific characters. At one point in the story of Dragon Quest XI, you’ll be asked to open the way to Yggdrassil by finding six orbs. Here’s everything you need to know about how to find those six orbs so that you can continue the game’s epic story.
You will automatically be given two orbs as you play through the game before you’re required to search for all six orbs. Once you’re prompted to start hunting for the rest, you’ll get access to the ship and will head to Nautica, the underwater city, as part of the story. As you continue along the path of the story, you’ll be given the third orb.
Next, you need to head to Champs Sauvage.Once you’ve arrived, head to the northern area first, L’Academie de Notre, and talk to the headmaster there. The game will then prompt you to go to the Eerie Eyrie, to the east of L’Academia. Head there, make your way through the dungeon and fight the bird at the top, where you’ll find the forth of the six orbs in a chest.
After you’ve got it, head south and go to the town of Phnom Nohm. After following the story for a while, you need to defeat the boss. You’ll be given the magical key that’ll let you unlock red doors once you’ve beaten him.
Then, travel to the Warrior’s Rest Inn and head west to the ruins. If you take the right staircase down, you’ll see a red door, which you can now unlock. Inside, you’ll see a chest that contains the fifth or the six orbs.
For the final orb, take your ship north to the snowy area and dock at the big city of Sniflheim. Sniflheim is the dock on the right in the cove in the northern area. Once you arrive at Sniflheim you’ll be barred from entering the main gate, due to the town being encased in ice. Simply head to the left side of the gate and follow the path up. Provided you’ve beaten Phnom Nomh, you can use the magic key to unlock the red door at the end of the path. This will allow you into Sniflheim, and to continue the quest.
You will need to follow the story events once you’re there and the queen of Sniflheim will eventually reward you with the last of the six orbs.
