Since the 25/20 is a necked-down 32/20, drilling the hole out to 30 caliber and rerifling it would give you a serviceable rifle again, and since the only difference in the.
A bidder contacted us regarding the photo of the muzzle. The bore appears to have been re-sleeved. We have added this to the description and apologize for missing it in the original. Good luck!

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 3% of its metal finish with finish remaining only in protected areas such as around the bottom of the bolt blocks and lever. Otherwise, the rifle has mostly worn to white with a very light patina, scattered spots of darker oxidation and light surface erosion, scattered dents filled witih oxidation in the magazine tube, heavy scratches on the barrel at the rear, scattered light nicks and dings with a concentration on the top of the receiver, and some other scattered minor marks. The screw heads range from sharp to slightly disfigured with useable slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, however we have not tested feeding from the magazine tube. The dents in the magazine tube may impede feeding. The action is tight and the hammer has a half-cock safety position. The trigger is crisp. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.
Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 1892 rifle and carbine replaced the toggle link action of Winchesters Model 1873 with a breechblock locked with two rectangular locking bolts that made it much stronger and suitable for the higher pressures of smokeless powder. It was designed by John Browning, and was sort of a scaled-down Model 1886 rifle, the first he designed for Winchester. The Model 1892 rifle was popular with ranchers and later was the rifle of choice for western movies and TV shows, even though they were often shown in the wrong period, years before they were actually developed. John Wayne used both M1892 rifles and carbines in many of his western movies. The M1892 rifles again became popular in the 1980s with the advent of Cowboy Action shooting, as they were smooth and dependable. This is a Model 1892 rifle with a 24” barrel, made in 1915, chambered in .25-20 Win. The rifle is in about Good condition with wear consistent with use in the field over the last 104 years. Despite its outward appearance, the bore has been re-sleeved and is in fantastic condition and the mechanics seem good, though we have not tested feeding from the magazine tube which has scattered dents. Winchester Model 1892 rifles of this vintage are always collectable and it takes quite a bit of effort to collect one in every caliber and sub model. Even those with high-end collections sometimes purchase rifles in less than pristine condition until they can find a rifle with a better finish, and we think this will probably happen with this rifle as well. Please see our photos and good luck!
